"Badger" came to us as an older dog after his original owner was no longer able to care for him. We knew he was a great dog, and had already fallen in love with him some years before. And he was not only an AKC Champion, but a UKC National Grand Champion as well. But we didn't realize what an impact a single dog would have on the pure Ruffian line. The Ruffian dogs had sometimes been criticized for lacking substance and type----no longer! We were only able to breed to Badger once after he arrived, but that was all that we needed, a single really good dog. That would be the bitch Ch Rowyn's Majestic Whisln Dixi, an amazing little stocky (but correct) girl who has managed to not only carry the best attributes of both her parents, but reproduce them as well. Despite being sparsely bred, he made his mark---please view Badger's Legacy, we are so so proud to see him in these dogs.

Badger was truly a standard sized dog, heavy boned, darkly pigmented, thick underjaw, and he re-set the bar in our kennel for proper AmStaf temperament. He had the heart of a lion, courageous yet level headed, and we still dearly miss him today. Sleep well, old buddy. And thank you.
