Rowyn Ruffians was founded in 1994 by Jean and Seth Ghantous, and we are located in the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Both of us were in the veterinary field when we met and purchased our first show AmStaf. After trial and error, research and hard work, we made the decision to exclusively breed a prestigious family of American Staffordshire Terriers called "pure" Ruffians. While almost all modern day AmStafs include Ruffian dogs in their pedigrees, we are one of a handful of breeders worldwide dedicated to maintaining the most undiluted, or "pure", forms of the Ruffian family. We found this line to be superior in structure, agility, athleticism, and our dogs are both healthy and long-lived. They are not only pretty and successful show dogs, but they reproduce specific traits with remarkable predictability---so essential for any successful long term breeding program.

Since 1994, we have added several human children to our pack of rambunctious terriers to liven up the mix! Seth is now a Veterinary Internal Medicine specialist, a great advantage to our breeding program. We are a very small hobby kennel, and we believe that quality dogs are more important than quantity. With very limited breedings, we have still produced top winning AmStafs, both Regional and National Specialty winners. And of course, beautiful and fun loving companions as well as show dogs!
